Now that exams are done, corrections are piling up. The town abruptly calms down. Streets are empty. August is the quietest month.
Before the quietness hit, three research groups gathered to discuss questions of democracy education, comprehensive changes, and artificial intelligence. Each one provided me with rich impressions, notes for the Zettelkasten and new reading lists.
I have always loved this about academic life. When decluttering the fading semester, ever more questions and ideas pile up. Demanding a lot also means giving a lot back. Sometimes simultaneously.
Let the “lecture-free” summer begin, let the Zettelkasten grow, let the writings gain weight.
